III. How will the Maitreya Jyotisha Courses Help Us?

1. To Understand Suffering, to be Free of Suffering(Healing)

In the ancient Hindu view of the human drama, life was broadly seen as an earlier & longer part, from birth to sixty-seventy years(artha & kama); and a later & shorter culminating part, from sixty or seventy till end of life(dharma & moksha). In modern times, in spite of our incessant pursuit of pleasure, wealth, name & fame, and notwithstanding the reward of self-gratification that comes as a consolation & solace; life in artha & kama is by and large characterized by recurring, interminable sufferings, for which there are no real answers in sight. We are always seeking Divine patronage, but we never seem to understand that life by its very nature has the copresence of both, Divine patronage as well as, Divine conspiracy.

2. We are Slow to Awaken to Suffering

Only in the later afternoon & evening of life, does the reality of  suffering impact on us profoundly. In modern society, the ancient patterns, designed by the sages have all broken down.  New unbalanced chaotic patterns have taken their place. In the end, modern society is offering us intense & varied pleasures, but also as  a concomitant, intense sufferings in varied forms.

3. Ills of Modern Society to be Healed by Jyotisha

This leaves our consciousness & self, confused, conflicted,  alienated, with utter meaninglessness, loneliness, depression, death-like sufferings, separationand sorrow as our final tragic realities. We are not even aware that the self, our sense of extreme individuality & egoism, is the negative architect of this never-ending inner & outer tragedy. Jyotisha, the 8th darshana given by the ancient Hindu sages, is the only darshana which reveals an astonishing order in this confusing sea of chaos, we call life.

4. Who May Study Maitreya Jyotisha Courses?

Maitreya Jyotisha must be studied by all educated, serious & intelligent people, young & old, men & women. We may take up this study, for our own clarity, for our understanding, for our own maturity, for our own peace, for our own liberation. It represents the higher spiritual vision & culture from the ancient world of the Hindu sages. In fact, even when we are still in the thick of material life(in the spheres of artha & kama), if we can but start learning Jyotisha; learn about the self, in us and in others, learn about Life, learn about the mysterious Divine, there is the possibility of wonderful clarity, courage and a balanced fulfilment in all the four spheres of life: dharma, artha, kama & moksha – provided of course, we see the great wisdom of sacrificing our selfishness & our shameful life of the self.

Nobody can persuade us or pressurize us to embark on this inner heroic adventure, we alone can give ourselves this freedom, this deep understanding, this ending of suffering. In fact this freedom is our birthright, our innate Atmic nature.

5. Krishnamurtian self-Knowing in Maitreya Jyotisha

Without the clear Light of Jyotisha, life is bound to appear confusing, conflicting, depressing & meaningless. Maitreya Jyotisha, by emphasis on Krishnamurtian self-Knowing, dispels this darkness and then lo! there is Light. A negative incident, a misfortune, a crisis, a loss, a calamity, a failure, disgrace & dishonour, a divorce, a disease, a death-like suffering, which are  invariably the Divine conspiracies, they alone can take us upward into the higher spiritual life, into freedom. To ascend, we need to be sensitive to these Divine conspiracies.

6. The Religions, Sensitize us to Suffering & Inspire Us to Pursue the Ending Suffering(moksha)

Usually, the religions give us a worldview in which suffering is central, and they deal with the enormous problem of the ending of suffering-which is called moksha. However, while the religions speak the language of the masses – parables, gods, demons, legends, mythologies, avatars; Jyotisha by contrast, addresses the most important problem of suffering more directly, more deeply, more profoundly. It is intended for the more cultured, more perceptive, the more sensitive, for all those intelligent seekers and astrologers, who never got the answers to their deep questions from religions, from gurus, from sacred texts and from modern psychology….

7. Turning a Vision into Reality-Through Understanding

Imagine – not a delusional life in freedom – but imagine an aspirational life in freedom(because this is your birth right), with full-blown clarity, originality, no dependence on fables, legends, gurus, gods, with awakened Intelligence, awakened Compassion. To turn that vision into a reality, you have to fully reject being a second-hand human being(as the world teacher Sri. J. Krishnamurti has put it), you have to learn to stand on your own feet, learn to look at humanity & Life as an outsider. No guru, no god will usher you into that world of freedom, you have to liberate yourself by becoming aware of your dissipative enslavements & bondages.

8. Jyotisha is the 8th Darshana, The Eye of Awareness

If you have that passion, that courage, then Jyotisha will be your eye-opener, true to its traditional definition-Jyotisham Ayanam Chakshuhu. It means, Jyotisha is the Eye that Sees, the Eye of Primordial Awareness. In the ancient world, the sages held it to be the 8th darshana (worldview). Maitreya Jyotisha is only a modern version of the ancient 8th darshana of the sages of India… The greatest Healing source is Awareness(Siva).

9. Finally & Most Importantly, the Study & Practice of Jyotisha for the Deepest Understanding of our Life in (artha & Kama), as well as in the Spiritual Spheres(dharma & moksha)

We learn, how to look at a Chart, whether it is the Rasi Chart, or one of the Divisional Charts & what to look within a Chart.

How to decipher Divine patronage, & Divine conspiracy.

When to apply significations of the signs, planets, and the houses.

How to fathom afflictions.

How to decipher strengths & weaknesses of planets & houses How to secure a wholistic understanding of any Chart

How to understand Nakshatras, Tithis and their significations How to make predictions

How to read Dashas-Bhuktis against Transit Trends

To secure all of this understanding through the study of hundreds of case studies that Sri Sankara has come across in his practice, in his consultations. All this is absolutely necessary. Without these well-developed abilities, an astrologer will end up as someone incompetent, even as a charlatan.

It is by such understanding alone, our minds may become quiet with understanding, clarity & contentment – so that we may then go on to savor the wondrous impenetrable mystery of being human here on earth.
